Get to know one of Wedi 3's new presenters, Rhodri Owen
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Each day is different, variety is very important – and I’m very lucky.
What was your first job?
Acting in a soap opera called ‘Dinas’ when I was in school – we had a great time and a lot of fun!
And the worst job you’ve had?!
I’ve enjoyed most jobs, although I don’t like jobs that take me away from home these days!
Which food wouldn’t you be able to live without?
Definitely chocolate. I admit I have a problem with chocolate!
What is the worst thing that you’ve worn in public?
Fashion is an odd thing. The worst thing is – as a presenter – there’s a lot of evidence of the ‘big mistakes’.
If you were invisible for the day, what would you do?
Go to the nursery where my son is and see how he’s behaving!
What is your favourite word?
Gabriel.
Where is you favourite place in the world?
Carreg Cennen Castle near Llandeilo.
How did you begin presenting?
I had never thought of being a presenter, but in one Eisteddfod someone from S4C came up to me and asked if I’d take a screen test to be one of the new faces of S4C children’s television.
What sort of music do you like?
As I’ve ‘matured’ I’ve started to love classical music – but these days I’ve noticed that I sing Disney songs more often – and I know all the words to ‘Thomas and friends’.
What was the first record you brought?
The Bangles album. I’m still a big fan of Susanna Hoffs.
And lastly, do you have a message for the audience at home…?
I hope you’re enjoying Wedi 3 as much as I am. I love presenting the program. It’s not like work at all – it’s pure pleasure! Thanks for watching, and keep at it…
